Description
Each centre painted with a kylin, seated on a low stand, its bulging eyes and powerful limbs, its tail, mane and feet finely delineated in underglaze blue on white, the flat rim decorated with scrolling leaves and flowerheads, white on underglaze blue, the underside decorated with scrolling leaves and flowerheads below a double band of thin blue lines, the globe-shaped stem decorated with three diamond diaper patterns, the splayed foot with two flower head borders, the footrim banded with a further border of double blue lines, the footrim unglazed, the base glazed.

Supported on a bulbous knop bearing three lozenges, the whole terminating on a domed foot embellished with demi-flowerheads. The footrim is recessed and knife-cut. 8.3 cm. (3 ¼ in) dia., Kangxi (1662 – 1722).”
