Description
Of round form, shallow bowl and foliate edges to the flattened rim, painted in the Chinese kraak-style with a central roundel decorated with a scholar seated on a round mat next to the water, stylised rockwork and a plantain nearby, a star-constellation in the sky, the interior sides with shaped panels painted with various flower sprays divided by bands containing small motifs, the flattened rim with a continuous border-landscape of trees, rock-work, swirling clouds, pagodas and figures seated underneath the sun/moon, the back of the dish painted with a four character Chinese pseudo-mark.
