Chinese famille verte baluster vase Kangxi(1662-1722), the body painted with a a continuous scene including the joyful celebration of the moon festival depicted by figures in a fenced garden gathered at a table holding moon-cakes, beneath various colourful tassels, the garden in a rocky landscape, further round the vase is a moon and a bowman on a yellow horse accompanied by two lantern bearers; (apparently seen in a dream); all below a band of butterflies and flowers against a seeded background; the neck with auspicious symbols; the base with double circle in underglaze blue
