Description
A fine silver gilt pendant set with an enamel miniature of Judith with the head of Holofernes.
French, the enamel dates to the 17th century, the silver gilt pendant appears to be of a similar date, the pearl drop is a 19th century addition.
Measures 7 x 4.3cm (excluding loose pendant bail).
The beautiful pendant is decorated in the Renaissance taste with scrolls, swags and putti heads. The reverse of the pendant is set with a glazed compartment containing a piece of paper that reads ‘Judith with the head of Holofernes. 17th century enamel miniature’.
