Description
Pair of Japanese Imari bottle vases, Edo Period, early 18th century, with slim tapering necks, the bulbous lower bodies decorated with two cartouches containing flowers and golden clouds, surrounded by trailing water plants and swimming carp, the shoulders with thick blue bands below scrolling karakusa-style tendrils, the rims with band of iron red petals and footrims with interlocking heart design.

Height of the taller: 23cm. (9 1/16 in.)
Condition:
One with four breaks to the neck neatly restored and hairline to the base cleaned and sealed.
