Description
Chinese canton enamel winepot, Qianlong (1736-95), the chamfered body raised on four low feet and decorated with four panels, three of which contain scenes with dignitaries, ladies, children and attendants in outdoor settings, the other with a dramatic landscape with cliffs and a small dwelling against a backdrop of mountains; all against dense foliate scroll on a pale blue ground, the neck and spout with further floral scroll in blue and pink, the tall handle with narrow floral cartouches and the lid decorated with a radiating pattern of petals and leaves the base with a central square seal.
Condition: The handle previously broken and restored, small flake to body repainted, the cover restored
