Description
Meissen soup plate, circa 1740, decorated in the centre with a flying crane, dragon and insect, the rim with insects and floral sprays, the scalloped rim with the Sulkowski Ozier pattern moulded border, with blue cross swords mark to base.

The decoration of this plate is often found on pieces with a basketwork border. Pieces with this decoration can be found in a number of Collections including the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Berlin, the Porzellansammlung Dresden, and the Museum für Angewandte Kunst Köln.
