Description
Meissen gadrooned teabowl and saucer, circa 1730, decorated with chinoiserie scenes of figures engaged in various pursuits in a garden setting, the saucer with gilded scrollwork to the rim, the interior of the teabowl similarly decorated and with a spray of indianische Blumen to the well, the exterior of each with a moulded band of reversed gilded gadroons above the foot rim, Dreher’s mark * impressed to inner footrims, with blue crossed-swords mark to base, diameter of saucer 4 7/8 in. (12.5cm)., height of teabowl: 1 3/4in. 4.3 cm., condition: minor wear to gilding
