Description
Matched pair of large Chinese famille verte baluster vases and covers, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with variously shaped panels containing flowers and mythical beasts in fenced gardens or stylised landscapes, interspersed with dragons, butterflies and ruyi heads; the shoulders with bands of various cell and diaper grounds with cartouches containing beribboned precious objects, the necks encircled by ruyi-heads; the rims with keyfret, scrolling and spearhead patterns; the tall domed lids with further cartouches containing flowers and grasses issuing from rockwork, interspersed with mythical beasts and surmounted by peach-shaped finials.

Condition:
Both vases with restoration to cover and body done to a high standard
