Description
A late 19th Century English freesprung Karrusel by Barraud & Lunds in a gold half hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Unusual richly engraved 52.5 minute revolving carriage. Engraved cock, compensation balance, freesprung blue steel double overcoil hairspring. English lever escapement. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, monogram on the back cover and a dedication engraved on the gold cuvette. Two flysprings to open the front cover, maker’s mark “JW” in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.
