Description
Chinese inkstand, Qianlong (1736-95), of oval form and supported on three short legs moulded in the form of animal masks with two further moulded animal mask handles, decorated in polychrome overglaze enamels to either side of the body with an oval panel containing flowering dianthus amongst other floral sprays, the body and lid with an assortment of large red and gilt tropical flowerheads and foliage against a ground of small blue scrolls; the lid with removable silver metal fittings.
