Description

Chinese famille verte dish, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with an array of the hundred antiques, including a central archaic vase with prunus and lotus, brush holder, guqin, scrolls and a daogu drum, with various other beribboned precious objects depicted around the rim, the reverse with four further babao and central conch chell mark within concentric circles in underglaze cobalt blue.

Condition:

Neatly restored haircrack, small break with haircrack to rim and frits to rim, all restored to a high standard

Notes:
The ‘hundred antiques’ motif comprises the eight treasures (babao), the symbols of the Four Fine Arts (chess, music, calligraphy, painting) together with numerous other auspicious objects, cumulatively representing the gentlemanly accomplishments
