We know there are plenty of Rolex Datejusts from the 1990s but we are also certain there aren't many with such a rare waffle dial and gold Roman Numerals which is why we find this timepiece so attractive.
Presented as a complete full set featuring an inner and outer boxes, manuals and papers originally issued in Japan in April 1998.
This Rolex Datejust, model 16233, features a 36mm stainless steel case, fluted yellow gold bezel, a rare white waffle dial with yellow gold Roman numerals in cobination with the gold hands, date aperture at 3 o'clock and a sapphire crystal glass. Water-resistant to 100m.
The watch operates from an automatic movement, caliber 3135, providing a power reserve of up to 48 hours.
Fitted to a stainless steel and yellow gold Jubilee bracelet with a folding clasp which can fit a wrist of up to 18.5cm. The bracelet shows signs of sagging however this is normal for watches of such age and has been reflected in the price.
