Description
Pair of moulded Chinese leaf-shaped dishes, Qianlong (1736-95), decorated with sprays of flowers including peony and daisy, the rims with serrated leaf-edge effect and applied stem-shaped handles.

Length from handle to tip of leaf: 30cm. (12 11/16in.)

One dish neatly restored
Notes:
Leaf-shaped moulded dishes were made at Jingdezhen in the 18th century specifically for export, using soft-paste porcelain pieces made at British manufactories as prototypes. Examples from Worcester, Bow and Lowestoft can be found in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (CIRC.349-1916; C.600-1924; C.528-1924).
