Description
Pair of Chinese powder blue and famille verte ewers with covers, Kangxi (1662-1722), of double gourd form with long s-shaped spouts, decorated overall in a fine powder-blue glaze decorated with floral sprays, leafy sprigs and scrollwork in gilt, the lower bulbous sections with quatrefoil cartouches in reserve each containing a bird perched upon a flower branch of red camellia, the upper sections with leaf-shaped cartouches also in reserve, containing flowers and grasses, the lids with bands of zig-zag pattern and surmounted by a bud-shaped finial.
Condition: One with small chip and small restoration to end of spout, the other with damage and restoration to lid, broken inner flange, damage and old restoration to spout (please refer to images)
