Description
Pair of Chinese double peacock platters, Qianlong (1736-95), of octagonal form with canted corners, decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels in the famille rose palette to the centres with a peacock and peahen perched upon rockwork in a garden setting with flowering peony within a single black line, the rims with a continuous garland of tropical flowers and scrolling foliage.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 33.3cm. (13 1/8in.); height: 23.5cm. (9 1/4in.)
Condition:
Some rubbing to enamels and a shallow chip to top rim of one platter (please refer to images)
