Meissen tea caddy, circa 1740, of rectangular form with sloping shoulders, painted in enamels and gilt with a continuous watery landscape scene, with figures gathered at the water’s edge amongst barrels and rigging, ships visible on the water beyond, the curved shoulders with a band of intricate gilt laub-und-bandelwerk, floral sprigs and insects, surmounted by a later gilt cover, the base with ‘No’.
