Japanese Arita blue and white plate, c.1680, with foliate rim, decorated to the central roundel with a landscape scene, with a lone fisherman on a rocky outcrop beside a river, two houses beneath a towering pine and mountain peaks visible in the background, the wide rim with scrolling floral pattern and three large chrysanthemum heads, the reverse with five spur marks, concentric blue circles and scrolling tendrils
