Antique Russian silver and cut glass trompe l'oeil caviar bowl, Moscow c.1860.
The lid is highly decorated and applied with sturgeons and parsnips. .The embossed picture of peasants has an inscription in Cyrillic saying:" Come. dear neighbour, please, to have a meal".
Marked with 84 Russian silver with the maker's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic for unknown maker.
