Description

A large Japanese Arita blue and white deep bowl and cover, late 17th century, Edo period, decorated in tones of underglaze blue to the body and domed lid with a continuous garden scene of peony and grasses issuing from rockwork between concentric blue bands, the foot and lid with bands of petals, the lid surmounted by a ‘koma-inu’ lion dog.
