Pair of Chinese small deep blue and white warrior dishes, Kangxi (1662-1722) with foliate edge, decorated to the centre with scenes of two warriors on horseback, one with a depiction of a chase, the other with the warriors engaged in combat against a hilly landscape with peony and bamboo, the cavetto and rim with six petal-shaped alternating panels with warriors and chrysanthemum heads, against a radiating swastika pattern, the reverse with six panels containing ruyi heads, the rim with three floral sprays and six character Kangxi mark within concentric circles to the base, diameter:18 cm (8 1/4in) , condition:Good . The swastika is a Buddhist symbol of endless longevity.
