Description
Pair of Chinese famille rose plates, early Qianlong (1736-95), decorated to the centres with a vase of flowers and floral sprays with scrolls and low stand with brushpot and ruyi-head sceptre, the cavettos with four leaf-shaped floral cartouches and lotus scroll against a blue hatch-pattern ground, the rims with floral boughs and fruits including pomegranate and buddha's hand, all within a narrow band of scrolling gilt against an iron-red ground.
Condition: One with chip to underside of rim, the other with fritting to rim.
