A large double gourd flask.

Japanese, late 19th century.

Measures 33cm in length.

The flasks stopper and loose ring is finely carved and turned from a single piece of stag antler. The sinuous style of carving and choice of material indicates that the stopper was made by a member of the Asakusa school of carvers.
