Jaeger-LeCoultre Great White Shark E2643 Chronograph

£20,000.00

Description

Jaeger-LeCoultre "Great White Shark" E2643 vintage stainless steel chronograph sports watch.

Incredibly attractive reverse panda chronograph dial. “T Swiss T” at the bottom of the dial indicates Tritium lume. The subdials are bright alongside the yellow lume indices.

These watches generally go by “Shark” which was used in the North American market and “Vogue” in Europe. This particular timepiece from the late 1960s with a dial branded LeCoultre and "VXN" import stamp on the movement was destined for the North American market.

This rare example nicknamed by collectors as the "Great White Shark" features a white 24 hour aluminium bezel. Accompanied by a Jaeger-LeCoultre Extract from the Archives which mentions "24 hours aluminium bezel" and dates the watch to circa 1969. There is also a small vintage pamphlet detailing operating instructions.

The 40.5mm wide stainless steel case retains thick lugs with clear bevelled edges.

Comes fitted on a JB Champion USA stainless steel bracelet.

Inside beats the infamous manual winding Valjoux 72 movement.

The watch is running well, all functions work correctly, and it is keeping good time within vintage watch timing standards.

To give collectors peace of mind we provide a 1 year mechanical warranty.
