This Fortis 'Swiss International Airlines' Square Chronograph 652.10.148 is an unusual and rare find, possibly the only one for sale. This Fortis comes complete with box, manual and original warranty papers.
Fortis were well known for creating watches branded for certain companies however few remain of this particular piece. This watch was created by Fortis specifically for 'Swiss International Air Line' pilots, GMT and Chronograph functions of course being a basic requirement for those associated with aviation.
Big and bold, easy to read with clear white hour markers and hands over a black background dial. The GMT hand easy to read in bold red as is the date in the date window at 3.
Signed but not just in the usual places, this watch is factory customised to 'Swiss Airlines' branding in a few places. Clearly stated on the dial under the brand name, it's also stamped on the top of the bottom half of the original brown leather strap with the logo clearly embossed.
Furthermore, the rotor on the exhibition case back movement in bold which is marked with the Swiss Airlines logo and finally as are the original stamped and dated papers from 1972.
38mm square stainless-steel case with sapphire crystal. Original brown leather strap and signed buckle in very good all-round condition
Condition - Excellent throughout, no major marks or scratches.
Working Order - Plus 10- seconds per day with an excellent amplitude.
Our View - What a truly wonderful, collectible full set piece. Unique and truly rare.
