Description
Dutch Delft charger, 18th century, painted in underglaze blue in the kraak style, the centre with a flower-shaped cartouche containing a jardiniere of scrolls, stylised flowers including peony, seed pods and fruits, in a rocky fenced garden with a large winged insect in flight overhead; the wide rim with eight alternating panels containing flowers amongst foliage, and precious beribboned objects including a double-gourd flask and artemisia leaf; between narrow cartouches with small pendant tassels and various cell grounds.
