An incredible silver dial Chronograph from the 60's in just exceptional condition. Continental signed dial this watch operates from the extremely robust and iconic Venus Cal 188 manual wind movement, a movement that is in fine working order to running at around +10 seconds per day.
This is exactly the kind of watch we hunt out! Elegant and one you are never likely to see again making it rare and pleasure to wear. The original silver dial has aged lightly but beautifully showing no signs of its 60 plus years.
38mm stainless steel case that sit on the wrist perfectly. This really is an incredible watch for the price being asked. Take a look at the photos of the movement to see just how clean it is, the dial and the case too.
The Venus 188 is a renowned movement used in lots of watches around the late 40's to the end of the 60's and as time passes its harder to find them in such good order. Revolutionary in that it was the first cam-switching chronograph movement made.
Continental was and still is a watch company that made watches under many brands, still going today they are part of the Evaco SA group of Swiss Watches. Being founded in the 20's they like many others suffered from the quartz crisis but are now starting to find their feet again.
We have chosen to fit to a blue lizard style strap to bring old and new together, for us it works but of course we can change the strap upon request.
Condition - Has to be a 9/10 when you consider the age
