Description
Chinese blue and white bowl and saucer, Kangxi (1662-1722), the exterior of the bowl decorated with two rows of petal-shaped cartouches containing assorted flowers including peony, with small lotus heads just visible above the top band, the gently barbed rim with cell ground, the interior with peony sprays, the base with a lotus flower within a double circle; the saucer with further bands of floral cartouches against a cell ground, the central roundel containing two ladies meeting in a fenced garden with rockwork and willow, the reverse with lotus petal design and small flower heads

Diameter of saucer: 16.2cm. (6 3/8in); diameter of bowl: 11.1cm. (4 3/8in.)
Condition:
Insipient chip to foot rim of bowl, bowl with small chips and frits to rim, saucer with minute frits.
