A French Art Deco ruby, diamond and gold ring, by A.F. Souteyrand, Paris, with a row of seven square-cut rubies, in a channel setting, with five, graduating, old-cut diamonds either side, overlapping a larger old-cut diamond, with four, graduating, smaller old-cut and eight-cut diamonds either side, in a geometric buckle like design, set in platinum, on a decorative scroll gallery, with a tapering rose gold shank, with a French eagle head mark, for 18ct gold and a dog head mark for platinum, with a maker's mark, on the outside, signed A.F. Souteyrand, Paris, circa 1935.
A. F. Souteyrand, was a Parisian jewellery house, selling jewellery in the Art Deco style, during the 1920s and 1930s. Their premises was 23, Rue Racine, 23 Paris, today Paris 6 - 75006. Their jewellery cases were marked "expert joaillier fabricant". Their jewels are a rare find today. They appear in a 1927 directory. Societe.com gives the company details of Madame A. Souteyrand, an individual entrepreneur, specialising in the retail trade of watches and jewellery.
Societe.com gives the registered date as 25th December, 1959, however it was trading during the 1920s. The date of closure given is 6th November, 1986.
