Description
A very fine Ceylon Sapphire (of Medium Violetish Blue) & Diamond Cluster Ring mounted in 14ct White Gold, Circa 1930
Centrally eight raised claw-set with a fine Oval Natural Ceylon Sapphire (with no indication of treatment observed) and estimated as weighing 1.59 Carats, surrounded by twelve round brilliant-cut Diamonds of 0.42 Carats and of G - H Colour and VS - SI Clarity, all set in granulated (millegrain edged) scalloped shaped settings.
This beautiful ring is accompanied by an independent Gemmologist's report confirming the above assessment.
It should be noted that the use of 14ct White Gold was very often used during the experimental 1930's period which pre-dated the later and more prolific developments in the technical manufacture of 18ct White Gold.
