£6,850.00
Description
A very fine 18 Carat Yellow Gold (marked) French Natural Sapphire and Diamond ring, Centrally set with a beautiful Natural Sapphire of 2.30 Carats, Medium Blue (lightly included) with an indication of slight thermal enhancement, surrounded in a Gold swirling design by 0.17 Carats of E – F Colour, SI Clarity Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds.
French.
Circa.1960
This beautiful ring is accompanied by an Independent Gemmological report confirming the above assessment.
It should be noted that indications of slight thermal enhancement are frequently found in Sapphire Jewellery made post 1915, whereas moderate to major treatments then developed as the 20th Century progressed. No treatment readings in Sapphires are scarce.
As illustrated in the Science Museum, it has been possible to slightly heat treat Sapphires and Rubies since the Roman times and it is therefore feasible to find early Jewellery with stones, which when tested, produce an indication of slight thermal enhancement.
