Description
A vintage gold Albert chain, with heavy solid curb chain links, a T-bar and lobster clasp, mounted in 18ct gold, with 18ct or 750 Hallmarks on each link, with sponsor marks on the T-bar and jump ring, circa 1950.
Watch chains were popular up until World War One, when the military found wristwatches to be more practical. During the 1950s to the 1970s there was a fashion for wearing waistcoats, along with pocket watches and watch chains. These chains are worn by men and women today as necklaces.
