Description

Pair of Meissen circular tureens and covers, circa 1740, painted in Kakiemon style with the flying fox/squirrel design, the lid and base each with a moulded band and painted with a red squirrel above a banded hedges and another yellow squirrel all amongst Indianische Blumen, the lid with scalloped brown edge and a pinecone finial; underglaze blue crossed swords to the base.

Diameter: 19cm. (7 1/2in.)

Condition: Faults to finials
