Description
A Georgian cannetille snake necklace, with an amethyst and emerald cross pendant; with the snake chain worked in fine, flexible cannetille wire link work, with embossed snake heads at either end, set with faceted rubies, for the eyes; the snakes are clasping the top of the amethyst and emerald pendant, which is decorated with cannetille rosettes and set with an oval faceted amethyst and two cushion emeralds; the removable cross pendant has embossed sections and granulation and is set with cushion and square faceted amethysts, with pear shape and cushion faceted emeralds, mounted in 18ct gold, circa 1830.
