Description

Ca. 386-534 AD, A terracotta tile featuring a beautiful depiction of rendered in high relief a seated Buddha wearing rich garments whose pink pigment is marvellously still preserved as is the blue of the halo, the black of the hair and the green drapery above the Buddha. He is performing a mudra - symbolic gestures of the hands and fingers used in Buddhism.
