Description
Chinese Canton enamel dish, c.1800, decorated in brightly coloured enamels with an assortment of the ‘hundred antiques’, including two ritualistic bronze vessels, coral, feathers, a ruyi-head sceptre, coins, scrolls and a bowl of fruit, the rim with four cartouches and brightly coloured scrolling ground, the reverse with an elegant band of fruiting vines and peony heads to the rim, the base with a quince and finger fruit amongst blossom
Diameter: 21cm. (8 1/4 in.)
Condition: Some wear and scratching to the enamels and a small section of the rim (5cm. x 2 cm.) with overpainting
