Description
Chinese blue and white moulded tankard and cover, Kangxi (1662-1722), with metal mounts, the body decorated with sprays of peony, chrysanthemum and cherry blossom, the rim and lid with bands of scrollwork, the footrim with a band of stiff leaves and the handle decorated with cloudscrolls
Dimensions:
Height without mount: 15.8cm. (6 1/4in.)

Hair-line around base of handle
Notes:
A very similar tankard, also with ormolu mounts, was donated by Sir Augustus Wollaston Franks to the British Museum (Franks.1582)
