Description
A romantic landscape depicting a young buck deer startled amidst his parkland by the emergence of a strange giraffe-like creature with leopard spots and lions feet.
A chinoiserie to the buildings centred in the landscape, a waterfall and mountains in the distance, all edged by two of the original side borders, each depicting barley twist balustrades, with spiralling floral garlands, groups of figures and masks.
Flemish, Circa 1660-1700.
Some areas of earlier restoration but commensurate with age. Cleaned and re-lined.
